Headed to San Francisco

Early this morning, staff and students loaded onto five 50+ passenger charter buses and headed to the great city of San Francisco. After a long and exciting day at Disneyland or Universal Studios yesterday, it was fitting for the students to have a chance to sleep, relax, rest and enjoy the ride. The full day trek across The Golden State was beautiful, offering stunning views – unique to California! Because of the length of the trip, the scenery continued to change throughout the journey. Students enjoyed looking at the rolling hills, towering mountains and stunning California saplings. Additionally, the students enjoyed watching a variety of American movies to keep them entertained, while on the bus.

Getting Settled

Upon arriving in San Francisco, students checked into their hotel room after eating dinner at a local mall. After settling in, students enjoyed taking a dip in the hotel pool, watching TV and spending quality time with their roommates, as they will all part ways in just a few short days. Tomorrow, the group will tour a prestigious American university, Stanford and visit the Golden Gate Bridge before the final “SEI 2016 Farewell Party”.

M13_1802

Gold team RTA, Vi Pham, was born and raised in Hanoi Vietnam until she was 15 years old. She left home to attend a WAnet school as a 10th grader, and is now a fourth year, psychology major at Westmont College in Santa Barbara, CA. She has a younger brother and sister, whom are both living back in Vietnam with her family. During her free time, she enjoys listening to music, reading and attending concerts. She hopes to get to know the many students at SEI and help them transition well into American high schools or University’s. Fun fact: Ms. Pham had never seen snow until she came to Chicago, IL for high school at the age of 15.
