SEI 2017 Day 16 Update

SEI’s Got Talent

One of the biggest events at SEI each year is called “SEI’s Got Talent”. This two-act, high energy talent show features a variety of performances from SEI students. This year we had the largest amount of students/staff members participate in the talent show, with a total of 19 acts performing, including a surprise performance from the SEI teachers. Additionally, the show hosts, brother and sister duo Mr. and Ms. Krogh brought humor to the evening with their short interludes in between acts. Students enjoyed watching the hosts perform SEI focused skits.

The talent show is a great way for students to grow in their confidence and ability to speak English in front of a large audience. Each year the staff is extremely impressed with the quality of talent at the show and the boldness of the SEI students. The staff and students thoroughly enjoyed cheering on the talented SEI performers and watching them demonstrate courage as they walked onstage at the Wallace Theatre.

Weekend Activities

SEI staff and students experienced another sunny Saturday afternoon exploring California. Just like last week, students had the option to go to Huntington Beach, The Palm Springs Aerial Tramway or the Fashion Island Mall. Everyone enjoyed the chance to recharge and rejuvenate over the weekend.

SEI Staff Highlight: Care Staff, Bethany Nitzel

Care staff leader, Bethany Nitzel, is the second oldest of nine children. She loves to surround herself with people, as she is very energetic and positive. In her free time Bethany enjoys playing music, playing volleyball, hanging with friends, and going to concerts.

Fun fact: Bethany lived in Mongolia for four years and also lived in Thailand and Hong Kong for two months each.
